Chimera demonstrates mode Transition

Hermeus demonstrates transition from turbojet to ramjet with its full scale Chimera engine. This is a major de-risk for hypersonic technology.

DEC 2022

f100 engines acquired

Pratt & Whitney’s F100 turbofan, used in the F-15 and F-16 aircraft, will act as the turbine core of Hermeus’ turbine-based combined cycle engine, Chimera II.

JAN 2023

SUBSCALE wind tunnel testing

The findings attained during these tests are key to understanding the aerodynamics of Quarterhorse.

MAY 2023

Mk 0 BUILD BEGINS

Mk 0 is the first of four vehicle in the Quarterhorse program, which will culminate in a vehicle capable of surpassing the all-time airspeed record held by the SR-71.

NOV 2023

DIU Contract signed

Through this multi-year contract, Hermeus will demonstrate key enabling technologies for hypersonic aircraft.

Mk 0 TESTING COMPLETE

This non-flying prototype acts as a ‘dynamic iron bird by validating all major aircraft subsystems in a real world environment.
