Hermeus' internship program throws you into the deep end with a mission-critical project, mentorship, and professional freedom you won’t find elsewhere. It’s like a cheat code for experience.

Internships are available in ATL, Jacksonville, and LA during the following seasons:

  • Spring (Jan – Apr): 16 Weeks

  • Summer (May – Aug): 10 Weeks

  • Fall (Sept – Dec): 16 Weeks

  • Engineering

    The Hardware Team at Hermeus is responsible for designing, building, and integrating the critical physical systems that bring our hypersonic vehicles to life. This multidisciplinary team works across structures, mechanisms, fluid systems, propulsion, avionics integration, flight software, GNC, and manufacturing to develop high-performance aerospace hardware for our hypersonic vehicles. 

    Software Engineering

    The Ground & Communications Systems Software Team is responsible for the design, build, test, and delivery of the vehicle's ground control station (AKA, the "Flight Deck"), Human Machine Interface (HMI) software, Pilot Vehicle Interface (PVI) systems, Command & Control (C2) and telemetry software systems, as well as voice-communication systems.  

    Manufacturing

    The Manufacturing Team at Hermeus are the boots on the ground. With expertise in manufacturability, welding, additive, tube bending, machining, and integration, we build fast airplanes fast. Our technicians play a crucial role in hands-on assembly, ensuring every component meets the highest standards. The close-knit relationship between our manufacturing and engineering teams allows for rapid design iteration and seamless integration into our aircraft.

    Flight Test and Propulsion Test

    At Hermeus, we are constantly iterating and integrating. We test early and often to minimize technical and program risk. We build the test campaigns that support our full range of test programs spanning development, operational and certification testing. 

    Growth

    The Growth department nurtures the business, collaborates with our stakeholders to ensure product-market fit, and ensures execution of our core mission. This department encompasses the Sales, Product, and Marketing teams.

    Operations

    The Operations department at Hermeus frees up other teams to focus on their jobs by delivering hyper efficient, always on systems that work seamlessly “like air”. This encompasses:

    People Ops: find, grow, retain world class talent.

    Information Technology and Cyber Security: deliver safe, secure, and powerful technological tools while streamlining workflows.

    Facilities - create workspaces that empower people to do the impossible.

    Environmental Health and Safety - protect the health, safety, and well-being of our workforce.

    Supply Chain - find, engage, collaborative with and manage external supply partners as part of the Hermeus family.

    • Internships are available to currently enrolled trade school students and university students with at least a sophomore standing.

    • Must be a U.S. Person (Citizens & Green Card holders)  

    • Hourly rates are based on class standing (Undergrad, Grad Student, Masters Degree, Etc)

    • All students are eligible for overtime (time-and-a-half)

  • The interview process is as follows:

    1. 30-minute recruiter call  

    2. 45-minute technical interview  

    3. 15-minute interview with department director

    Note: process might differ depending on team/role. 

  • Interns are responsible for making their own housing arrangements. This includes locating their own housing options and paying for their housing. However, all interns receive a monthly living stipend.

  • If we like you, we’ll want to keep you! Hermeus is glad to offer internship extensions, return offers, and full-time conversion opportunities based on performance and team needs.
